The National Agency for Food, Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) says it has stopped the registration of alcohol in Sachet and Small volume PET and Glass bottles below 200ml amidst other stringent regulatory measures.

It was revealed that the move is to reaffirm its commitment to implementation of Stringent Regulations Against Alcohol Abuse Nation-wide.

A statement signed by the Director General of the Agency, Professor Mojisola Adeyeye stated that the information was revealed in Abuja, stressing that registration of new alcoholic drinks in Sachet and Small volume PET and Glass bottles above 30% ABV (alcohol by volume) has been banned by NAFDAC.

Adeyeye further bites that the move followed the recommendation of a high powered Committee of the Federal Ministry of Health and NAFDAC on one hand, Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission.
