Journalist Urge To Disseminate Right Information

The federal ministries of information in collaboration with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization and the National Broadcasting Company have called on all journalists to use their various platforms to disseminate the right information for the development of the country.
During a one day symposium with the theme information as a public good held in Abuja, the three organizations warned against hate speech.
In her welcome address, the Permanent Secretary, federal ministry of information and culture, Ifeoma Anyanwutaku through her representative said the federal government of Nigeria stands firmly with UNESCO and other international bodies to condemn all acts of violence against journalists. Journalist and author Chido Onuma during a paper presentation at the symposium said the minister of information and culture Lai Mohammad has been on the forefront of fighting hate speech.
He therefore encouraged government to see it as part of their responsibilities to make the media more viable to provide verifiable information.
