Sokoto Commences Special Induction Course for Admin. Officers

The induction course which will last for 8 weeks was organized by the office of the Head of service in collaboration with Umar Ali Shinkafi Polytechnic Sokoto. Declaring the induction open, the state head of service, Sani Garba Shuni said the course is part of the ongoing training and retraining of middle level administrators in the state for improved service. The participants comprise main administrative staff and those who transfer their service from various ministries, department and parastatals. Garba Shuni appealed to the participants to be resourceful and dedicated as attendance will be compulsory for easy assessment and postings to promote E-governance. Meanwhile the permanent secretary, administration and general services, Yahaya M. Gobir said the induction programme will guide the participants in Basic administrative rules, ethics and procedures, office practices, administrative law and computer training among others On their part, the Rector, Umar Ali Shinkafi Polytechnic Sokoto, Professor Aminu Alhaji Ibrahim and Chairman Sokoto state Teachers service Board Garba Bello Yabo commended the state government for giving top priority to the state civil service and also advised the participants to pay rapt attention to the induction program so as to improve their core administrative duties.
