Sokoto Environment Ministry begins Special Sanitation Exercise
Sokoto state ministry for Environment has today flagged-off a special sanitation exercise across the metropolis. Flagging-off the exercise, the state commissioner for Environment Sagir Attahiru Bafarawa said the special exercise is in line with the directives given by the state governor, Aminu Waziri Tambawal. The commissioner assured that the exercise which is to be observed twice a month is aimed at ensuring that Sokoto state remain clean. A team comprising the commissioner in company of the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Alhaji Mu’azu Abubakar Madawaki and Managing Director SEPA, Qasimu Muhammad Yabo had after the exercise, went round to see for themselves how the exercise was carried out. While the Permanent Secretary, Mu’azu Madawaki urged those assigned to carry out the exercise to be dedicated, Qasimu Muhammad Yabo cautioned those in the habit of indiscriminate dumping of refuse to desist or face the wrath of the law.
