The President of the Appeal Court, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensen says the leadership of the court is putting in place giant strides, towards decongesting the Appeal Court.
Justice Dongban-Mensen revealed this while interacting with newsmen during the Court's Thanksgiving at the Church of Assumption Asokoro, being part of activities to mark the opening of the 2021/2022 Legal Year of the Appeal Court.
The Appeal Court President also ceased the opportunity to express gratitude to God that none of the Judges of Court of Appeal died from the pandemic.
"Let's start by thanking God for granting all Justices of the Court of Appeal good health, throughout the passing year and the incoming year. That the Corona Virus Pandemic did not knockdown any of our judges.
" The Court has many challenges but I can tell you that we are taking giant strides to decongest the Court of Appeal and we are moving forward to do even more. I will not say much today in order not to preempt my speech tomorrow. It will be better for it to be fresh when I say it by tomorrow."
The Thanksgiving Mass was preceded by Juma'at prayers at the National Judicial Council on Friday.
Tomorrow August 13, 2021 is the Official Flagg off of 2021/2022 Legal Year by Justice Monica Dongbam-Mensen, President of the Appeal Court.
